Guess I should update more often.

Well...anyway...

I've been doing a little crocheting. For example, I crocheted a couple of purses/bags. The first one was done with crochet cotton - one strand of white, one strand of beige...

and another one, also done with crochet cotton, using one strand of black, one strand of gray, and one strand of white.

There's more stuff, but I'll post it another day. :-)

D'oh!!!

While getting registered with Networked Blogs, I accidentally followed my own blog! Now I need to figure out how to unfollow this blog, because it seems kinda weird for me to follow my own blog. O_o

Xmas tree skirt.

This is the crocheted Christmas tree skirt I made a few years ago with worsted weight "sparkly" variegated yarn. The light at the top is actually the bottom of our fiber optic Christmas tree. I would have posted this sooner, but I've been crazy busy at work.

Look what I bought!

What is it? A big mess of yarn! It's actually several skeins of sport weight and novelty yarn all tangled up together. Why did I buy it? Good question!

I work at a discount store that sells lots of different things, including yarn from time to time. When I see a few tangled-up skeins in colors I like, I buy them. It's better than having them written off and thrown away. This is the biggest "mess" I've bought so far. It's going to take a lot of time and patience to untangle it, bit it'll be worth it!

Yarn doily

This was going to be a "doily rug", then I thought "A white rug might not be such a good idea". Then I thought "I'll just put it on the back of a chair to fancy it up a bit", but I'm not too happy with how the picot edges turned out. Then I thought "Why don't I just unravel it, make another doily with a different decorative edge, then put it on the back of a chair to fancy it up a bit".

Sounds good to me! :)

This is "yarn doily #1" (aka "doily rug"), made with Peaches & Creme yarn.

This is a close-up of it.

Giant granny square

Since this yarn is so beat up and not-so-good-looking, I decided to crochet a giant granny square with it. This is most of one large ball of yarn, and there's another equally large ball of yarn that I'll add to it. I'll just keep crocheting until I'm out of yarn, then see how big it is. There should be enough for a big square bedspread.

I put it over our BBQ for the pic.

The pattern of the colors is kinda funky, but since it'll be a bedspread, no one will notice...except people who look at the picture. :)

Necco wafer table runner update

I finally figured out how to connect the little "wafers"! I'm going to crochet around each one with white thread to make them square-shaped, then crochet them together in rows. Seems reasonable, right? :)
